Don't tell me to use my real name...just tell me not to be an ass!
This new trend in social networks, and even communities, out there on the web, requiring you to use your real name: it's really bothering me. 
There are a bunch of undertones to it: it's proper, professional, probably prevents fraud or something, but whenever anybody talks about it, it's always about how anonymity encourages bad behavior. 
It doesn't. 
Being tied to your real name suppresses bad behavior. The bad behavior was already there. If I'm a brat on the Internet, it's not because I'm anonymous - it's because it's fun. But here's what's more fun:
I choose to be nice. It's nice to be nice. Forums and chatrooms and art communities are fun when you're not being an ass. 
One thing I love about deviantART is that you have to agree to the terms of service AND the etiquette policy when you join.

New Submit: Bug PatrolDearest deviants -- I haven't been writing in my DA journal at all lately - which is terrible - and this isn't even a jorunal update!
This is a help post that might help get to the bottom of some problems deviants have been having with the new submit page -- a lot of people can't upload. And are rightfully yelling.

Our #dt development team is 100%  remote. We documented our first foray in cautiously  meeting each other last summer in the blog DT 2011 Army Barracks Raccoon-Con, the event that took place in Marin Headlands near San Francisco. Or team is also fairly evenly distributed across a couple continents and several timezones, with many of the developers hailing from UK, France and other European countries. This year, those Europeans managed to coerce North America based developers to get their papers in order and tricked them into embarking on the long flight. Tell me...Where do we go from here?
I've grown to hate the adage "if it ain't broke, done fix it". People on the internet like to throw this saying around whenever things deviate, even the slightest bit, from what they consider to be the norm. Working in the digital world, things don't need to break in order to make progress. I mean honestly, nothing was wrong with the cassette tape, it didn't break, and yet everyone now owns an MP3 player. Floppy disks were perfectly adequate, but alas, we all carry jump drives that can hold more information than computer hard drives could back in the early 90's.
Just because something works, doesn't mean it can't work better. Just because something is new, doesn't mean it should be feared. Should we stop inventing because we already have something that works similar to something else? Why bother with creating what's already been recreated?

The Help Desk team myself $ewm, $Ikue, and $Thunderstatement have been super busy making sure that all of your General Inquiries and Bug Reports get handled as soon as possible. Our current initial response time is no more than 48 hours this week! We are super pleased to announce that we’ve been doing a lot more than handling tickets lately. We are doing some serious business FAQ Revamping to make sure all FAQs are completely up to date and easy to understand. We are also merging similar FAQs to reduce redundancy to keep the overall FAQ amounts low to ensure it’s easier to find the information you are looking for.
We started the FAQ Revamp last week and we’ve already covered a little over 100 FAQs!! The following FAQ sections are ones we have already tackled or are currently in the process of tackling.

Upgrades to Quarterly Check PaymentsAfter receiving a great deal of feedback, we're excited to announce an upgrade to the My Earnings quarterly check payment system! Instead of waiting until the end of a quarter for deviantART to process your check, you can now request a check whenever you'd like! Since a young age, I have always been fascinated with flight. Growing up, my parents were good friends with a group of pilots. They specialized in cinema stunt work for movies. Every time I had the opportunity to go up in an airplane or helicopter, I took it. In the photo below, I'm in the center seat of a friend's helicopter. It was so fun!
As a youth, I would draw all types of planes -- jet fighters being the most exciting. Growing up on a healthy dose of Star Wars and G. I. Joe also fueled my love for flight. it was only a small print but seeing the actual photo in my hands the quality was very high the print i boiught was called august in london by an artist called lostknightkg
